Johann Sebastian Bach (1685–1750) was a German composer and musician of the late Baroque period, widely regarded as one of the greatest and most influential figures in Western music history.
Bach was born in Eisenach into a prestigious family of musicians. After being orphaned at age 10, he was raised by his eldest brother, Johann Christoph, who provided his early keyboard training.
Bach died on 28 July 1750 from complications due to unsuccessful eye surgery.
